Mylonas Microwinery

In 1917, the Mylonas family began to cultivate vines in the soil of Attica and to vinify their grapes in clay amphorae. Our vineyards have expanded over the years and a small winery has been built to serve the needs of local wine production and contribute to the area’s development.

At the beginning of the new century, the third generation of the family undertook to carry on the family tradition. Our new modern small winery, aiding in the creation of high-quality wines, was built to meet our growing needs.

Our goal has always been to highlight the Attica vineyard and especially the unique Savatiano variety – as we lovingly check the clay amphorae and wait anxiously for the result.

We have 12 hectares of vineyards scattered around Laureon, the tip of the Attica Peninsula, mainly planted with Savatiano but also with Assyrtiko, Malagousia, Aidani, Agiorgitiko, Limniona, Mandilaria, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.

The soil is of medium texture sandy clay mainly on limestone rock, but also slate and gravel are frequently encountered. The vineyards are 80 to 220 meters above sea level with our Savatiano vines, planted in a cup shape, averaging 50 years of age and yielding 4000 kilos per hectare.

The climate is Mediterranean with the summer “meltemi” winds cooling the Lavrion Peninsula, creating ideal conditions for viticulture.
