Josef Zisyadis, member of the Swiss Parliament from 1991 to 2011, co-chair of Slow Food and director of the week of taste, is at the origin of this wine project.
After millennia of viticulture, the production of wine in Patmos was abandoned in the 60s.
With its cultural and religious identity, the area of the Apocalypse today cultivates, on the grounds of the Monastery of Saint John, 3.5 hectares sharing between
• 2 hectare vineyard with two Greek varieties: white Assyrtiko and red Mavrothiriko
• 1 hectare olive grove with its own olive press. Our olive grove produces olives form the Koroneiki variety
• An island seed bank
Our mission is to raise awareness of agriculture and viticulture among the young people of the island.
